This exhibition is part of a series of exhibitions entitled MATERIAL QUESTS organized and held at the Benaki Museum Shop in order to present and promote artists from the fields of applied arts and design. The exhibition Remoulding Nature includes two sections. The first section is the continuation of the exhibition The Shell(2013) and the second section concerns the Japanese traditional art nerikomi. The main element in both sections is porcelain. Margarita Ekklisiarchou lives and works in Aegina, devoting herself exclusively to ceramics. She has had several one-man shows in Greece and taken part in group exhibitions. Using the wheel, mould and the technique of sheets of clay, she makes ceramic objects with a variety of functions and in shapes drawn from traditions of various civilizations. She specifically works with porcelain clay.
